Philosophy
Two thousand six hundred years ago, in the Greek cities on the coast of Asia Minor, a few men began to ask what the world is made of without turning to the gods. That is how philosophy was born, and with it a way of thinking that is still ours.
These essays follow the history of philosophy in order, from the Presocratics onwards. Here ideas are not told on a map but with figures: each concept is a geometric shape built with compass and ruler as you read.
Each essay takes about fifteen minutes to read. At the end you will find a timeline, the key words and a short quiz.
